Week 3. Year 1. Garner

Hello! We are with a new family this chapter, the Garner's!

Gemma Garner has always wanted a family, but when two strange toddlers wandered on her front yard she wasn't sure what to do.

She had already made the decision to start a new life in Serenity, maybe that's what these little girls needed too. A new life for all of them.

Gemma is a Family sim with an LTW to raise 20 puppies or kittens (not going to happen)

Gemma decided to name the little blonde Greta.

And her sister Gretchen.

Their house as is.

I'm sure Gemma wasn't expecting to add a nursery so soon.

But it was worth it for her girls.

Gemma greeted the welcome wagon. We have Elm Echols, and Grayson Dillenger.

And Susie Brahn!

Gemma has a want to get married. Not to date, or flirt. Straight up get married. Gotta love these family sims.

So I have her start introducing herself to all available men.

She actually hit it off really well with this first guy. He's an elder which sort of puts me off, but he's quite taken with Gemma.

I still had her greet every man that walked by, no sense in settling with the first guy you meet.

But Gemma had her heart set on the old guy. His name is Grant by the way.

They went on a date.

It obviously went very well. I definitely heard a lullaby.

Gemma immediately popped the question and proposed to Grant.

This was the fastest courtship I've had so far in this neighborhood. But they both seem very happy!

Grant is a Knowledge sim who wants to max all seven skills. Little bit of a time constraint since he's old, but I'll give it my best shot.

Gemma made a mess in the bathroom.

Grant took to the girls right away. I think he especially likes Gretchen though.

Grant brought 17,000 simoleans to the family. It was enough to expand the house, but not quite enough to finish furnishing it.

Since they were really needing the money, I had Gemma get the open spot in education. Grant can be a house spouse :D

She's a goofy sort of girl our Gemma is.

Grant has really taken to fatherhood. He watches those girls like a hawk.

Gemma finally gets around to teaching the girls their skills.

She took this pregnancy pretty hard, she was constantly running to the toilet.

Bump! No more vomiting!

Cutting it kind of close here. But Gretchen has all of her toddler skills!

It's birthday time!

Greta went first.

Then Gretchen!

Told you Grant was partial to Gretchen.

Thanks to Gemma going to work, they had a little extra money so the girls could get a decent bedroom.

Greta likes their new dollhouse!

Bump!

And promotion! Way to go Gemma!

The girls got some new clothes.

Gemma is skilling up for work. I have an idea for a business for them so they need some cash.

But first, a baby!

It's a girl! I was worried that there would be multiples, since Gemma's pregnancy was so rough.

Her name is Gillian and she has her father's skin and hair and her mother's eyes. Grant surprised me, I thought he was blonde, but Gillian is a red-head so he must be too. Sneaky Grant!

They didn't waste any time conceiving another child.

Elm stopped by for a visit! And Felicity Fargo came home with Greta. Not sure why she wants to impale herself on the chair, but they became friends anway.

Grant helped the girls out with their homework. I'm very pleased with Grant, I normally don't bother with elders at all, but he's grown on me very quickly.
